Before I discovered Haynes I used Chilton's a lot, and those manuals got me through a lot of complicated repairs.I always buy a Hayes manual with each vehicle I buy, because these books are really helpful. They come with a nice conversion chart and generic trouble shooting guide for the novice. The first chapter give a nice list of routine maintenance list, also with all the product information(oil weight, spark plug part numbers, various fluid types, torque specifications, etc) The book will show you everything from changing your oil to replacing the camshaft. Excellent book for beginners, offers much more helpful information than the owner's manual that came inside the glovebox. While the books offers a lot of details, it falls short in some areas, such as details on the electrical system. For the experienced mechanic, it may not offer a lot of help, but for the beginners, it's a must have.I'm what you call a do-it-yourselfer but not a professional by any means. I have used this manual to change my rotors, brakes, calipers with ease. I have also recently replaced front and rear shocks. I also used the wiring schematics to trouble shoot my trailer lights. My son has used his Haynes manual to learn more about his car as well.It didn’t cover everything we needed for 2006 dodge 4x4. As a helper for finding thing it was good.Clear, easy to read print. A must have for someone who works on their own car. Some info in the book can't be found on the internet.On top of that these guides are tailored for someone who has basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge. A must for any home mechanic.Everything is way OTT but I guess that's just the American way.Man sollte allerdings auch ein gutes Englischworterbuch haben.
